“Your abundance is not measured by what you have, it is created by what you share.” By Heidi Catherine Culbertson
It Is Here!
The 2022 hardcopy booklet containing all of the Posts published in 2022 has been delivered. Once again, we thank Bev Eads.
She is among the most unusual supporters “Friends” is blessed to have. Bev has provided a booklet to represent published Blog Posts issued since December 2013. Bev’s dedication to this task is remarkable. Many times a year I share a booklet with many “Friends” and others when a computer is not available to show our efforts.
Bev…you are a blessing and I thank you everyday for this product.
Robert (Bob) Barnard…!
In my Post dated November 14, 2022, I informed you of Bob Barnard’s illness and hospitalization in Costa Rica. Bob returned home in the states just before Christmas to continue his medical care and recovery. I had breakfast with him today. He is currently addressing his medical issues and is improving. Bob seems eager to return to Jaco, Costa Rica but only if he has cleared several of his medical issues. Thanks for your interest.
The Anne G. Broady Scholarship Fund Campaign
We are now in our tenth year supporting the Copey community with student scholarship funds. It is almost beyond my comprehension that we have successfully continued the Anne G. Broady Scholarship Fund for nine consecutive years.
Our goal is to raise $1,800.00 to assist the mothers and fathers needing some help to cover the tuition cost for their children to attend the Copey Learning Center. Selected students are award $100.00 to supplement the total tuition of about $180.00 per year per student. We encourage the selection of students whose parents face serious financial hardship covering the cost of more than one student in the family.
The Executive Director Salary Support Fund Campaign
We continue our financial support needed to acquire and retain a competent director responsible for the everyday operations of the Center. The success of the Copey Learning Center depends on the continuity and proper delivery of educational services overseen by competent leadership. Our goal is $2,000.00.
By my count, there has been five leadership changes at the Copey Learning Center since we began providing salary support about 7 years ago. This may seem like frequent turnover and it is by our US standards. However, the frequency of turnover would be much higher and the loss of continuity far more likely without the salary support provided. We can look at things this way. Salary support for a director helps us protect the investment of our scholarship funds earmarked for student learning.
Anyela Ulloa, last year’s director did an outstanding job while learning to be a dynamic and confident leader of staff and students. We do not have confirmation at this time regarding her 2023 involvement. We support her return and look forward to working with her again.
Campaign Donation Guidelines
The methods available for donating have not changed since the first fundraising campaign in 2014. If you are planning to be a financial supporter this year, the two methods below have served us well and without any complications.
The Copey Learning Center’s PayPal can be used to make donations directly. Please access the PayPal system by clicking on….http://copeylearningcenter.org/. Find the PayPal logo in the upper right-hand corner of their homepage. To make certain the Copey Learning Center recognizes your donation and how it should be applied, indicate in the comment section on PayPal that the donation supports the “BCSF” or the “EDSS”.
The alternate method is to send me your donation directly. Make the check out to me (Arthur Broady). Once received, your donation will be paid to the same Learning Center PayPal system as in Method #1.
I will enter your name and designate where it is to be applied per your directions. The PayPal system will issue me a receipt which I send to you as “proof” the donation has been submitted to the Learning Center in your name. Make your check out to Arthur Broady and send to:
If there is a special request pertaining to 501c3 and IRS, please contact me.
725 N. Center Parkway, Apt. N-201, Kennewick, WA 99336 Phone:1-509-948-6416
If sending me the check, please do not make the check out to the Copey Learning Center or “Friends of Copey”. My bank will not allow me to deposit the check unless my name is entered.
