The drought is about to end — at least the silence from the “Friends of Copey” author. The past several months have been filled with unexpected challenges, diversions, and more than a few detours. Time has not been my friend.
Fourteen months ago, I enrolled in a Mastery Speaking course, fully convinced I could simply shoehorn the extra work into an already overloaded twenty‑four hours. For a while, I believed I was managing it — adjusting here, trimming there — but as the course intensified, time management became wishful thinking. The workload grew, the travel increased, and the speaking engagements multiplied.
Now, at last, the tunnel has a light at the end of it. One major project remains, and then this long season of stretching, learning, and juggling will finally ease.
I’m writing today to invite all local Friends to join me on the 24th. Yes — short notice. Being behind has been the theme of 2026, and I apologize for that. But if your schedule allows, I would be honored to see you.
This course has demanded more time than I ever anticipated — travel, twelve speaking engagements, and the constant push to grow. Alongside my other commitments, including Friends of Copey, I remain passionate and fully committed to doing my best.
I regret stepping away these past weeks. Returning to full speed will be gradual, but I’m ready for the climb back to a new normal and get back to the mission.

The Copey Learning Center News
The Copey Leaning Center has had a challenging year so far with challenges obtaining and retaining volunteer teachers to support the daily operational needs of the students. Being such, the classes have continued and there has been help available at various times.
A more detailed review of the situation at the Center will be conducted in the next few weeks. This will entail Catalina and me reviewing in detail how things are going and how we can be more helpful.
Now, there has been some unexpected funds donated and the Center welcomes the additional income. Thank you donor. Also, hats off to my Kiwanis Club who provided a $500.00 check to support the Copey Learning Center.
Keep the Center in your thoughts and prayers. We are amazingly blessed to be part of the Copey community and in the position to do the supportive things we manage to do.
