Campaign Update!
We are certainly making progress with the two fundraising campaigns. So much to be thankful for and “Friends” is one amazing organization of supporters. This week we have seen the following gains in our donations.
Anne G. Broady Scholarship Fund (AGBSF)
Goal: $1,300.00 Actual $825.00 Deadline: March 7, 2022
We are tracking very well. I fully expect this goal will be reached on schedule. It is essential we hit this target by the deadline since enrollments need to be done early for those families receiving scholarship support. Thanks to all for the amazing show of support and generosity.
Executive Director Salary Support (EDSS)
Goal: $1,700.00 Actual $425.00 Deadline: March 7, 2022
We are a little behind schedule on this campaign but as in a few previous campaigns, this tends to lag some. If not achieved by deadline, this goal is reached shortly thereafter. There is more flexibility in this deadline than in the AGBSF.
Let’s make a big push upward next week. There are still several who have communicated their support…”it is in the mail”. Thank you donors and thank you “Friends” praying for our success.
The Copey Learning Center Starts Educating…!
Based on most recent reports, the Copey Learning Center will start classes on March 7. School enrollment is currently underway. The plan at this time is to have both on-line educational services and the possibility of one site volunteer providing educational services in person. The recruitment efforts for the on-site teacher are still ongoing.
It is not at all unusual to meet challenges opening a Learning Center in rural Costa Rica. This is one reason the Copey Learning Center is heralded as a huge success. Year after year the obstacles and barriers are there and the determined community of Copey meets these challenges each year.
Success takes all of us committed and working together. With your help we will be ready for business on March 7. I can hear those school bells ringing now.
Donation Methods (See Special Zelle Note Below)
The methods available for donating have not changed since the first fundraising campaign in 2014. If you are planning to be a financial supporter this year, the two methods below have served us well and without any complications.
- The Copey Learning Center’s PayPal can be used to make donations directly. Please access the PayPal system by clicking on….http://copeylearningcenter.org/. Find the PayPal logo in the upper right hand corner of their homepage. To make certain the Copey Learning Center recognizes your donation and how it should be applied, indicate in the comment section on PayPal that the donation supports the “BCSF” or the “EDSS”.
- The alternate method is to send me your donation. Make the check out to me (Arthur Broady). Once received, your donation will be paid directly to the same Learning Center PayPal system as in Method #1. I will enter your name and designate where it is to be applied per your directions. The PayPal system will issue me a receipt which I send to you as “proof” the donation has been submitted to the Learning Center in your name. Make your check out to Arthur Broady and send to:
725 N. Center Parkway, Apt. N-201, Kennewick, WA 99336 Phone:1-509-948-6416 - Zelle donations are possible. Several donors have made donations using the Zelle method. All it seems to take is my phone number: 509-948-6416 or my email address atbroady@aol.com. Try it and if this fails to work for you, contact me please.
- If there is a special request pertaining to 501c3 and IRS, please contact me.
This is an exciting time. It makes me smile to think of supporting students and teachers in Copey as they prepare for their next learning adventure.
