Success…Peace of Mind

“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” – Henry Ford

This is another big day in the life of “Friends of Copey”. We achieved our goal a couple days ahead of schedule.

Executive Director’s Salary Support (EDSS)

Goal $2,500.00  Achieved  $2,500.00  Deadline: ACHIEVED

I underestimated the quick and generous support this fundraising campaign would receive. Since it seems each year this is a bigger challenge than the AGBSF fundraising campaign. I just get concerned.

In prior years (a few times) we had to extend the deadline and even put forth supplemental efforts to reach our goal. Not this time around. And, we have never failed.

I cannot express enough how important our support is to this small rural community.

We see wasted dollars and wasted opportunities everywhere we look. Greed and false promises overshadow the good that needs to be done. We can be very proud that neither greed nor false intentions apply to us. We have stood by the Copey Learning Center with our word and promises for more than 12 years. My appreciation and pride runs very deep!

On a Sad Note…

We have lost some folks near and dear to us! I am reporting that my first cousin Forrest Goble of St. Louis passed away several weeks ago.

Also, our dearest friend, one of the earliest Copey Learning Center’s Director and Pathway Chaperone, Ana Yancy has experienced the passing of both her father and mother within the last twelve months or less.

Very recently, our long-time friend and one of the strongest supporters of “Friends of Copey” passed away. Martha Pope was among the earliest “Friends) and supporters of this project back in 2013.

We extend our love and condolences to all the families. We call ourselves “Friends of Copey” but there are times we are more like a family of Copey. Prayers and peace to all.

Closing Comment…!

Friends of Copey’s fundraising strength has always come from a loyal network of supporters who share a commitment to sustaining the Copey Learning Center.

Rural communities in Costa Rica often struggle to maintain meaningful educational opportunities, yet for more than twelve years this Center has grown into a vibrant place for learning, cultural exchange, scholarships, and the Pathway Project.

This year’s strong support isn’t luck. It reflects long-term relationships, trust, and a shared mission lived out year after year. We are “Friends of Copey” in action.
