Happy Thanksgiving…!

“We gather together to ask the Lord’s Blessing”   Composed in 1597 by Adrianus Valerius

I Am Thankful!

Thanksgiving for many years, for me essentially meant a day of football, a huge meal, and time spent with family. And, I was “thankful”. Back then, feeling “thankful” on those days seemed adequate and sufficient to appreciate all the things great and small I enjoyed in my life.

Then aging takes over and the process really does change perspectives on just how much you have to be thankful for. Merely feeling thankful on Thanksgiving Day is no longer adequate. For me, I can no longer squeeze in an obligatory thank you.

My life overflows with people and events, health and safety, and more I must be mindful of. One day filled with turkey and football, including spending time with family, is just not enough time to be thankful for all the blessings I enjoy.

Even “Friends of Copey” has become an everyday kind of “Thanksgiving”. And, my thanks are sincere and deeply felt. Now, there are “Friends” found in many states and countries. I am thankful for it all.

“Copey Learning Center’s Graduation”

After most of the year spent in Copey being locked down and locked out, who would think there could be a ceremony recognizing educational achievements and successes? Well…those who never give up believing that challenges are really opportunities in disguise will find ways to succeed.

CELEBRATE !

A celebration is scheduled for Saturday. It will be different than past celebrations in terms of a huge gathering in a room full of kids and parents. It will be virtual, bringing an end to an extraordinary school year.

The students and the fabulous teachers involved will have several programs and projects to share during the ceremony.

We are very proud of this project. We have learned once again the power of “possibilitarians” who take on obstacles, pursue solutions and answers, and open doors when something needs to be done. And, when it is done, everyone benefits, wins, and succeeds.

Finale…!

I want to say a very special “thanks” to both Catalina and Celeste on the Costa Rican end for all of the time and effort you both made to keep these last 15 weeks moving and productive. Your vision, your dedication, and your positive “can do” attitude has made this a truly memorable experience for us all. Thanks from all of us!
