The Legacy of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”  By Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.

We continue to pay our respects to Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. having celebrated his federal holiday this week.

Just four years ago, it was only a “dream” of mine to go public with the intent to remind others of the legacy of Dr. King. Now, for three consecutive years I have performed publicly sharing the life and legacy of Dr. King. It is not just my “dream” anymore…it is reality.

Last weekend audiences were treated with the two part performance covering Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and the “Nobel Prize for Peace” acceptance speech.

Several songs were also performed by my very talented stage partner and soloist, Daphne Jackson.

As a story teller, I share the fascinating story behind the “Dream” very few of us know about even today. And the more we understand the backdrop of racial violence that cloaked Dr. King, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Nobel Peace Prize, the more we can appreciate Dr. King’s clarity of message, consistency of leadership, and courage to overcome tremendous obstacles.

Follow My New Web Site…!

Because of my numerous activities and challenges, I had to establish an entirely new web site to bring each activity under one large umbrella. Today, we have one stop shopping. Now you can follow me around everywhere.

I will continue the Blog for “Friends of Copey” and will continue producing Posts. I look eagerly forward to year 13. This is our lucky number.

Please go and check on things. Some of my activities may completely surprise several of you. Comments are welcomed!  Become a “follower”. Let’s continue on this amazing journey together.
