“Success is on the very same road that FAILURE is on…only SUCCESS is a little further!” by Jack Hyles
Let Us Celebrate a Big Achievement!
Whenever we initiate a fundraising, we step out with total and complete faith. All the results depend solely on “Friends” along with their voluntary spirit of generosity towards a small community located in Costa Rica most “Friends” have never visited or even plan to visit. I have great faith and although I step out believing we will succeed, it comes down to “Friends” responding.
As of today, all funds have been forwarded to the Copey Learning Center and those donors have received verification that their donations have been submitted. I am indeed grateful and without doubt, so are the families in Copey who will be the ones being helped.
Thank you all…donors and those who pray and wish us well.
Anne G. Broady Scholarship Fund (AGBSF)
Goal $1,800.00 Actual $1,850.00 Deadline April 7, 2025 Achieved!
Several days ago, we hit the goal for our AGBSF. This is a tremendous relief as we mark our twelth consecutive year
achieving our goal. As of today, all funds have been forwarded to the Copey Learning Center and those donors who relied on me to process their donations have received verification that their donations have been submitted.

The funds are being used to give the families in need some tuition relief for enrolling their sons or daughters into the Copey Learning Center. There is a definite hardship on families wanting to have their children learn English. There is an even greater financial burden on those families trying to enroll more than one of their children into the Learning Center.
There is a benefit for two or more children from the same family enrolled and we request our funds be available as needed.
There may still be a few donations on the way and I will report these in the next Post. Thank you once again!
Executive Director Salary Support Fund (EDSSF)
Goal $2,300.00 Actual $1,700.00 Deadline April 30, 2025 (Extended Deadline)
We have made significant progress towards this important goal. We have moved from 41.3% to 73.9%. I have extended the deadline to help us reach this goal. We actually are tracking very well based on previous years. Furthermore, it is less urgent as the funds help supplement the Executive Director’s salary throughout the school year. The mere fact the Copey Learning Center sees our effort to help with the salary is an emotional victory the Center feels.
Obtaining and maintaining a very competent director has been one of the greatest challenges for operating the Copey Learning Center. The level of competency and experience to properly operate such an educational facility within a very small and rural community is difficult when there is very little salary to offer. Low pay and the general remoteness of the location are difficult barriers to attract quality candidates.
However, we have been fortunate to have Catalina in charge and as a retired college professor, she has the competency and leadership needed. It is very helpful to provide some level of decent compensation to her and anyone standing in for her when she is away.
A Fun Fact to Share!
There is often fascinating information that I come across which astounds me. Specifically donors, the locations where donations come from are very interesting. It is a “fun fact” that for this round of fundraising, eight different states are represented. Donors represent the following states; Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Colorado, Texas, New Jersey, Maine, and Washington state. Hopefully, I have not missed any states. If you do not see your state listed and you donated in either campaign this year, let me know. Clearly, our support extends from the east coast to the west coast during this round. If you want your state represented as a donor location, use the Guidelines provide below.
