Friends of Copey

We Gather Together To Ask For Blessings

Locked and Loaded…!

Actually, better stated…”I am packed and ready to head to Copey.” I leave tomorrow (Sunday) and it will be a “milk run” as we use to say about traveling by bus and experiencing multiple stops along the way. Why the “milk run” route? Can you spell “CHEAPER” ?

I will be in eight different airports to get to Costa Rica and back home. Considering the state of conditions with weather, holiday travel, and the usual air travel problems, being in eight different airports could turn out to be more of an adventure than a trip. And it is well worth the effort. Plus, current weather conditions in Costa Rica have been mostly a lot of rain. The rainy season in the rural areas of the country typically means washed out roads and travel detours and delays. And again, it is well worth the effort. I am ready to go!

I am very eager to finally meet Tara. She has done an outstanding job volunteering for the full school year. I am also looking forward to visiting our friends Larry and Cindy, Ana Yancy, Catalina, and many of the students we have watched over the years grow and become exceptional people. Several of these students have come to the USA over the years.

One of my sons (Carlos) and our dear friend from Emory & Henry University in Virginia (Monica) are both traveling to Copey to attend the graduation ceremony. The “Friends of Copey” will be well represented at graduation time. We are planning to return with a lot of memories to share.

I plan to be back home late Thanksgiving Day hopefully in time for some left over turkey and dressing.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
