Friends of Copey

Our Attitude of Gratitude

The summer continues to move along at neck breaking speed. This is the case whether you are in the northwest, southeast, or even if you are in Costa Rica.

Tara and Ana Yancy..!

I have enjoyed being in touch with Tara. She is our dedicated volunteer currently at the Copey Learning Center (CLC) who is now about two thirds thru her teaching commitment to the CLC. Tara recently shared a very special photo with me.

Tara finally met Ana Yancy. Those of us long timers will remember Ana Yancy. As the CLC’s Director, ana Yancy traveled as the chaperone to the United States during the Pathway Project in June 2017 and again in June 2018.

Since Ana Yancy’s departure from CLC at the end of the school year in 2018, she has been the owner and operator of her own learning center in a nearby town. She has enjoyed much success as a very talented school director and teacher with a clear focus on the needs of children.

Ana Yancy made great friends during her USA visits.  Several friends have traveled to Copey in recent years. Some have spent time visiting Ana Yancy during their visits. Last year, Monica Hoel (Emory & Henry University) visited Ana Yancy, and Cindy and Larry Windes.

During our annual receptions in June, many attendees ask me about Ana Yancy. They would love to see her again. I am happy to report she is doing well and very pleased Ana Yancy and Tara finally met. We continue to wish Ana Yancy well.

Check out the Quick Links..!

I am finally getting the last of the annual reception photos placed in the “Quick Links” section. These photos are very special to me because they document another great event. How wonderful it was to have both the annually devoted attendees and the first timers who are near and dear to me all come together. Most of the attendees were from southwest Virginia, east Tennessee, and North Carolina. Four attendees joined us whom I have  known for over 66 years. One of these attendees included my high school friend who resides in Shreveport, Louisana. You must plan to join us next June. The more “Friends”…the greater the joy!

A Grateful Heart..!

“Gratitude is one of the strongest and most transformative states of being. It shifts your perspective from lack to abundance and allows you to focus on the good in your life, which in turn pulls more goodness into your reality.” – Jen Sincero
