Help is Needed..!
The search continues for the new volunteer teacher who is needed at the Copey Learning Center. As time shortens, I believe there is movement towards Plan B.
What is Plan B? I am not sure at the moment. One option is to cancel the start of the final semester for this year. Another option is to delay the start up until the volunteer is found. Other options could include only conducting some of the classes utilizing some of the local skills of those students who have completed the Copey Learning Center. 
In all three options plus other scenarios, students are impacted and likely will lose both time and opportunity to learn. I continue to reach out and call on “Friends” to help spread the word to the nationwide community we have access to. Most of you have Facebook friends and past teaching colleagues you can share the need with.
Mathematically, if each “Friend” would inform two or more Facebook friends, a thousand or more teachers/educators would be alerted of our need in minutes. For details, send me a note or contact the Copey Learning Center at info@copeylearningcenter.org.
Partnership Success Story..!
Next week I will provide my annual presentation to my wonderful Kiwanis Club. The members of Tri-Cities Industry Kiwanis Club have been extremely supportive since the beginning of Friends of Copey. In 2017, the club’s Foundation began partnering with us as the Pathway Project’s financial agent.
The annual presentation affords me the opportunity to provide visibility and accountability for the work done and the value of the partnership. My Kiwanis Club, especially in our region has a unique connection with the world, with children, and being active supporters of International Kiwanis. The International Kiwanis’ Mission and Vision are provided.
